HERITAGE
The Heritage Centre (HC), an initiative by the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), is located at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lahore Fort.
The Publication Division of The Heritage Centre is dedicated to publishing a variety of works including journals, monographs, historical reprints, scholarly works, and coffee table books. Our manuscripts come from the Research Division as well as independent scholars, academics, practitioners, and journalists.
We offer comprehensive services including designing, proofreading, editing, and printing. Additionally, we manage peer-reviewed journals, academic series, and promote open-access research materials.
The "Journal of Cultural Heritage Studies" is a flagship project of the Heritage Centre. This journal provides a platform for scholarly discourse and research in heritage studies, art history, cultural history, archive studies, archaeology, conservation, and management.
It aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural heritage, with a particular emphasis on diverse heritage areas across times and regions.
We cover a wide range of topics including:
Our editorial advisory board consists of eminent scholars, practitioners, and policymakers with expertise in heritage studies and conservation.
They oversee the peer review process, provide strategic direction, and ensure the publication of high quality and impactful research.
Our in-house editors are experienced scholars and practitioners who oversee the peer review process, guide the journal's strategic direction, and ensure the publication of high-quality research.
The journal is published biannually, with one issue released in the spring and another in the fall.
If you are interested in publishing with us, here are the steps you will follow:
Authors will submit their manuscripts online through the journal's website, which is powered by OJS. The submission process will be user friendly, guiding authors through the required steps for manuscript submission.
Upon submission, manuscripts will undergo a double blind peer review process. OJS will facilitate the assignment of reviewers, tracking of review progress, and communication between authors, reviewers, and editors. Reviewers will submit their comments and recommendations through the OJS platform.
Editors will manage the editorial workflow using OJS, overseeing the review process, making editorial decisions, and communicating with authors and reviewers. They will have access to tools for manuscript tracking, decision-making, and communication within the platform.
Authors will receive notifications and updates on the status of their submissions through OJS. They can track the progress of their manuscripts, respond to reviewer comments, and communicate with editors throughout the editorial process.
Once manuscripts have undergone peer review and editorial evaluation, accepted articles will be prepared for publication using OJS. Editors will ensure the formatting and presentation of articles align with the journal's guidelines before publishing them on the journal's website.
OJS provides features for archiving published articles and ensuring their long-term accessibility. The journal's content will be indexed in relevant databases and repositories to enhance its discoverability and impact.
OJS allows for the management of user accounts, including editors, reviewers, authors, and readers. User roles and permissions can be customized to control access to different parts of the platform based on users' responsibilities and affiliations.
The journal adopts an open access publishing model, making its content freely accessible to readers worldwide. OJS supports open access publishing by providing tools for article publication, licensing, and dissemination.
